While we were in Little Tokyo last October I picked up a little
flowery bento box for my sister. When she turned 9 a few weeks ago, I decided to make her a little lunch kit to go with the bento. The lunch bag is a variation on a pattern from the
Japanese lunch bag sewing book that Jean and Lindsay got me for my birthday. The flowery fabric is something I thrifted last year, and the lining is a sheet. I sandwiched some thermal batting stuff in the middle to help keep her food cold. I also knit her a
little red apple cozy because it seemed a very Japanese thing to do. I threw in this incredible squirrel soap from
my friend Marie (which was the hit of the party, even after everyone realized it wasn't a giant maple candy).
Movies since you last heard from me:
*The Queen,
The Holiday,
The Lake House (yikes, I know).
